Burra and beyond....

We've been travelling through Northern Victoria and Eastern South Australia. Stayed at a great free camp at Marangatang (near Swan Hill), a lovely  camp at Lyra on the banks of the Murray River (near Renmark) and arrived here at Burra yesterday. We are staying in the Showground with some 14 other vans. Here's our outlook yesterday of the local ony club training for an upcoming event.
It's a great wheat belt through this area. Very picturesque but unfortunately I don't always carry my iPad on our travels. I will try to do better.
On our way from Echuca to Swan Hill we passes a HUGE lake. Boga Lake had a huge swell the day we drove by. The museum is dedicated to the Catalina planes that used this lake to land on and train pilots.
We have decided to stay put for the Easter break. A $15 a night with power and hot shower, great scenery and company, it's a bargain.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Sharyn:)

Stitch Me Up ........

For Wednesday
I have joined Stitch Me Up blog hop over at  www.sewwequilt.com with Madame Samm and Jane from
Jane's Fabrics and Quilt BLOG  who has been our cheerleader. Thanks to both.

We were given some great designs and threads from Presencia. It was to be a mug rug but decided I love it displayed on a stand in my sewing room. Very cute!

Please visit my fellow stitchers with their wonderful creations:

Echuca

Not the greatest photos, sorry. Paddlesteamers and kookaburras for dinner.
We have had a day delay for a minor plumbing issue but on the road again tomorrow. ( I did get to look, drool in a patchwork shop) Sharyn:)

Start of our adventure.....

Hubbie and I have started our 6month adventure with the final destination of Broome. Yah hoo! I get cabin fever if I'm at home for too long and love being on the road. We have spent a couple of days with friends at Temora, a free camp at Congara and arrived in Echuca at lunchtime today. We are taking our time and meandering over our vast country.
I have bought stitching with me but none to show as yet. Over the next months my blog will turn into a travel blog, so be warned, lol.
Photo(if I can get Picasso to work on my iPad) is of our free camp last night at Congara, near Deniliquin.    We had no human neighbours and the silence was wonderful.  Sharyn:)

Little Bags......

Another lovely weekend with the company of our grandie. She is such a treasure. Sophie loves to dress up and dance with the wiggles. Unfortunatley, she doesn't like having her photo taken so you have to be quick and thankful for what you end up with.

I made a couple of small bags for my sewing supplies and electrical cords. Lets hope they help me stay organised in our little home on wheels.

Have a great week.

Backpack, backpack.....

Afternoon everyone. I've had a very interesting few days with a bit of sewing.
Monday saw me going to the skin doctor and coming out with red zap marks all over my face. A bit sore and sorry but that's what you get for sun worshiping.
Tuesday I tried to update the Navman. I was like the women who gives directions, "do a u turn when able", except there was no going back and now no maps. Apparently it's my computer not Navvie and I have to post it away to be updated.
Wednesday I finished off my backpack. Not Dora's but Sharyn's.

The colours are darker than in the photos. I enjoyed making the bag which is a tutorial from
Heart of Mary Blog , The City Backpack.
Had a few firsts for me such as the magnetic clip and strap hardware.
The size is deceiving. Fits more in it than I thought.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
Sharyn:)
