Couple of finishes.......

I decided to make our GD her own Santa bag. Her favourite colours.........of the moment.

As you can see, it is quite large and is full. Of course she is our only grandchild and it is our duty to spoil her, isnt it? :)
I have also made a bag using the wooden handles I bought in Young. Several pockets inside and a large one on the outside. I must admit I really enjoy making bags.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Hexagon Magic....

Finally finished the table topper using the gadget from Cowra. It came together quickly, just took me awhile to back and quilt in the ditch.

Not traditional chrissie colours but bright. I watched a you tube on binding and corners. Looks much better than previous attempts.

No more Chrissie sewing for this year. I still have a few kits that I have bought through the year but Im over it and will leave them for next year.

Blogger is still playing games with me. It is continually making me a no reply blogger. Very annoying.

A Fabulous Home Coming ..........

Hubbie and I have been on our last (for this Year) caravan getaway. We had 4 great nights at Woolomin (near Tamworth), camping beside the Peel River. A little village that time has forgotten, no internet and no phone coverage.

Im having soooo many probs loading photos.

The postie had been with loverlies a splendour..........
My fabulous, huge win from Cheryll................... thanks again Cheryll :)

My SS from Chookys swap .... all the way from Sweden..
I have placed the beautiful patchwork ornies on my tree and on a mini, love them!

I could also put out this advent calendar. A panel I bought in Cowra recently which I have embelished and machine and hand quilted.

OMG!!!!!! Bloody blogger

Arhhhhhh
Anyway, all days are full of choccies, waiting for my grandie to visit.
Lots of blog reading tonight, yeah.

Apologies for the outburst, no offence intended.

The colour purple ..........

The lady I drew in the secret santa at work, has a passion for purple. Really enjoyed making this bag for her. It has two pockets on the front and one inside. No problem showing the pics as she has no idea about my blog.

I have made a table topper for chrissie with the gadget I bought from Cowra. Havent finished it as yet but heres a teaser.

Lots of beaut rain here. We do need it, but I wish I could send some to our country friends.

Oh my ....its mine!

I had a lovely parcel waiting for me this afternoon from the lovely De. I had admired it on her blog and am sooo happy to be the owner. Thankyou De and thanks to Cheryll for organising the flower mini swap.

This is the mini I sent to my partner. Haven't heard from her as yet so I hope it has arrived safely. (not the greatest photo, sorry folks).

Quick trip.....

Hubbie and I had a three day trip to Temora to attend a surprise birthday bash of a dear friend.
We (me) decided to take the scenic route and amazingly patchwork shops seemed to be in every town we passed through. These beauties were bought from Katoomba, Bathurst, Cowra and Young. Lovely shops with lovely ladies.

I loved the look from Cheryll at Gone Stichin of this little heart and decided to have a go. Im happy how it has turned out.

All ready.....

I have finished my items for my chrissie swaps. They are wrapped and ready to be posted.

I have also finished my flower mini. I came across the fabric on our recent trip. No sneakies. I hope the recipient likes it.

I have a secret Santa pressie to make for a workmate. I'm enjoying making totes/bags at the moment so I plan on making another.

I also need to make up a few Christmas kits I bought while in Geraldton. Then a runner for the table.

Highs and lows....

Nature is certainly throwing curve balls at the moment. Thank goodness for the RFS!

We had a lovely 10 days with friends and our granddaughter in Tuncurry and Nelsons Bay.
Whales and dolphins were spotted, copious amounts of food (cake, mmmm) and lots of laughter.

Then hot, extremely windy weather began on our last day away. With it came the bush fires. We are lucky to have got home after the fire was contained on Monday.
Thursday brought the hot, windy conditions again which resulted in my son and his family being evacuated from their home and thankfully they had us to come to. Poor Pregnant DIL was caught up in a bush fire emergency on her way home from work which scared the you know what out of her. They have returned home but are still on alert and thankfully with no damage to their home.
Unfortunately the same cant be said for many families and  my best wishes go to them.

View from the front of sons' home. Too close for comfort!

What a week.......

We have had a weird weather week. Sunny and hot, like today and well I'll let the photos do the talking...
Looked like snow after the event

The day has started out as a typical autumn day, lovely and mild. The grandie and I had been to the movies and had just arrived home when down it came. Two minutes of rain, then 10 minutes of hail. OMG!!
If it wasn't for our 4year old my vocabulary would have included alot of ##@@**, not because of the damage it was doing to our garden but the potential damage to my newest addition, the little red car you can just see in the driveway!
BUT.... after very close inspection by all and sundry there isnt a dint to be seen, phew. Never see anything like it in the 18years of living here and I hope never to again.

On the sewing front, I have been busy. Made some bibs and did some applique on them. I machine sewed around them. Of course I bought the wrong type of heat and bond. Is this what everyone uses??

Also sandwiched and machine quilted my table topper. I made a couple of placemats that kinda match.

I watched a machine binding tutorial and it has turned out ok but the corners are a disaster, I'll have to watch a few more tuts.

We are heading off for 10 days with friends to hopefully sunny Tuncurry. Will take some hand stitching with me. By the way, I thoroughly enjoyed the Smurf 2 movie as did our grandie.

Enjoy your week.

Not too keen.......

I''ve been busy making something for myself after finishing my 'secret' projects.

I'm not too keen on certain parts of this topper but I look at it as a lesson learnt and will study the pattern better before cutting into fabric next time.

There was alot of pieces (for me a first) but I find it fantastic how it all comes together.

No for my artistic pic....

My azaleas have looked stunning the last few weeks but with the sudden heat have wilted some.

Next on my list, is to try my hand at machine applique on some baby bibs.

Secret sewing or is it?

I have been busy sewing for a swap and I wonder whether it has to be secret. The recipient of my gift is a 'stranger' blogger. She doesn't know I'm sewing for her and in fact I don't know whether she will even visit my ramblings.   Is it secret sewing??.....

I have been visiting lots of blogger sites. Such inspirational work!

I can show the fabric parcel the postman has brought ...

Baby, Baby, Baby.....

I

In between working and suffering with a 'love acquired' cold, I have been sewing for our grandie that is due in January.

The pants do look a bit big for a newborn but we will wait and see and the elastic can always be taken in.
Of course the 4year old wanted to know what I would be sewing for her. That is next on the agenda.
There are so many lovelies that can be bought for babies that are rather cheap, that sewing is becoming old fashioned, dont you think. Still Im happy and so is my DIL.

Finished one secret sewing and onto another this week. Im finding it difficult to decide what to make but have bought some French General material that was 50% off which I will use.

Enjoy your week! Sharyn:)
